Distance: Both walks start at Everett Forest Park. 10k rated 2B due to trails and incline. 5k rate 2A. (Rating 2=some moderate hills and stair climbing. Rating B=significant part of the route is on well groomed trails with very few obstacles.)
Description: We are offering two walks- a 10K and 5k, both walks start by the children’s play area. For the 10k- Enjoy this lovely walk through Forest Park on paved paths, and trails to the entrance. After another 1.5K, take a moment to walk out to the viewpoint at the sign for Howarth Park to see the marina, and activity below. Continue downhill to Howarth Park, on board walks, stairs, and a bridge crossing railroad tracks. After walking down a spiral staircase, you’ll be at the beach where the lowest tide is -3.0 at 10:05am. Even though this beach looks enticing to walk on, we recommend walking on the upper side. Join Pigeon Creek Trail, passing by the Port of Everett. Restrooms are at the start and at Schack Art Center (29th and Hoyt), then head back to the start walking through neighborhoods to the start. For the 5k, walk through the park and neighborhood close by.
Parts of these walks are on trails, so poles are recommended. Pets are not permitted in buildings. Owners are responsible for leash and clean up. THIS IS NOT A GROUP WALK, trails will be marked with chalk, ribbons, and arrows. Directions/maps are also available.
